DappRadar Shuts Down After Seven Years, Citing Financial Struggles
DappRadar, a leading analytics platform for decentralized applications, has ceased operations after seven years. Founders Skirmantas Januškas and Dragos Dunica announced the closure on X, attributing the decision to unsustainable financial conditions. The platform, which launched during the CryptoKitties boom in 2018, grew to track over 18,000 dApps across 93 blockchains.
At its peak, DappRadar served 500,000 monthly users and recorded 24 million daily active wallets. The company raised $7.33 million from investors including Prosus and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Despite its industry influence, a monthly burn rate of $15,500 with minimal revenue forced the shutdown.
The platform's data became indispensable for developers, investors, and journalists navigating DeFi, NFTs, and blockchain gaming. Its closure leaves a void in reliable on-chain analytics, underscoring the challenges of sustaining infrastructure projects in crypto's volatile markets.
